Introduction to the Master's Education System in Hong Kong

Hong Kong has eight government-funded universities, commonly known as the "Hong Kong Eight," each offering diploma, bachelor's, master's, and some even doctoral degree programs. Almost all courses are taught in English.

Master's degree programs in Hong Kong can be classified into taught programs and research programs. The duration of taught programs is typically 1-3 years, including coursework, research or practical modules, and a dissertation or thesis. Research programs are more focused on the research field.

In addition to the "Hong Kong Eight," there are four other university institutions (a total of 12 universities) that also admit students from mainland China and issue degree certificates recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
